Harlots of Beyond have been around for quite a while and have released many albums in Europe,but 2005's "Lake of Faeries"is the band's first ever UK release,sounding like a cross between the Misfits,the Distillers and Hansel and Gretyl,Harlots of Beyond are quite different indeed,a gothic rebel rousing metal stomp,like Lynard Skynard meets death. in some respects,"Harlot's House" and "Sabre-Toothed Squirrel"which show the band at it's best,however the rest of the album seems a lot like filler,maybe their back catalogue is worth further investigation before judging them purely on this under par debut UK release.

It's intresting how a piece of music can make you think of a particular period in your life. How your memory works. When I first put on this CD,I felt like I was transformed back to my teens. It also made me think of The Doors and Sex Pistols. This band is not a new comer;they've been playing since. I was curious to see how singing about faeries would feel like from a dark hearted band. It's not one of those new age CDs for sure. Influenced by a great mixture of styles from punk to opera,you certainly get an intresting sound as you listen to the tracks
