The Dead South is a Canadian folk-bluegrass musical ensemble based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The band was initially formed in 2012 as a quartet by Canadians Nate Hilts (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Scott Pringle (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Danny Kenyon (cello, vocals) and Colton Crawford (banjo). Crawford left the band in 2015 and was replaced by studio musician Eliza Mary Doyle for several years. Colton re-joined the band starting with the Voices In Your Head tour in mid-2018

Pringle is a placename derived from a locale in the Parish of Stow on the right side of Gala Water, about ten miles North of Galashiels.

Peter Pringle (born September 7, 1945 in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian musician and television personality, most prominent in the 1970s and 1980s. He began performing at age six in the children's choir of the Canadian Opera Company. He later studied a variety of classical instruments, including lute, sitar and surbahar, financing his studies by writing pop songs. Several of his songs were recorded by Anne Murray, for whom he also performed as a backing vocalist.

Adam and the Ants were an English rock band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group, which lasted from 1977 to 1982, existed in two incarnations, both fronted by Adam Ant. The first, founded in May 1977 and known simply as The Ants until November that year, achieved considerable cult popularity during the transition from the punk rock era to the post-punk and new wave era, and were noted for their high camp and overtly sexualised stage performances and songs.
