I already saw the whole performance on You Tube from precedent dates, and had no special expectations. I knew that all the tracks from their three albums were mashed-up together to a level where they were sometimes barely recognizable. For those like me who did not like 'Human After All', it seemed like another way to push it down my throat, a little bit without my consent. I wonder if an exact performance of their three opus, one after another, would have been preferable

French electronic music duo Daft Punk has released four studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, one soundtrack album, three remix albums, two video albums, twenty-two singles and nineteen music videos. They subsequently recorded several demo tracks with each other, forming Daft Punk in 1993

And, in many ways, the Alive tour is a perfect match for YouTube- the ancient Egypt by-way-of "The Jetsons" spectacle barrelling its way through shitty compression quality with blinding force. One of the most remarkable aspects of Alive 2007 is how well it recontextualizes career nadir Human After All, turning previously leaden songs into ebullient rock'n'roll manifestos; injected with Homework's air-tight Moroder-style anthems or Discovery's flamboyant funk, Human After All tracks are constantly improved and born anew.

Which five albums should represent Punk USA is so open to debate it’s best to take what’s served in the case of the cheap and no frills OAS, which chooses to deliver debut albums from Television, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, the Dead Boys, Misfits and Fear. When Television’s Marquee Moon (9) appeared in February 1977, it was hailed as a world-class trailblazer, owing as much to ecstatic jazz as garage punk, and still sounding gorgeously timeless.
