The sonics of Penis Metal is where Hades Archer really excel, with an abundance of space, clarity and separation along with the rawness and fury so crucial for black-thrash. With particular regard to certain elements of the recording/mix, the snare drum is especially powerful and the cymbals feel airy with plenty of sizzle. Penis Metal might not be the most original black metal album, but it is certainly the most sincere.
