End Of An Error (2004 - 2006). Les Incompétents were an indie-rock band from West London. They met with negligible mainstream success, but supported, amongst others, Mystery Jets, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, and Babyshambles. Their two singles received airplay from BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio, BBC 6 Music, XFM, MTV2 and Kerrang Radio, receiving serious support from Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy and Zane Lowe, amongst others.
Listening to Les Incompetents ’ music is a strange experience, something like a private joke gone slightly too far. They became semi-legendary in London for being entirely wrong, cack-handed and quite hilarious, but never achieved anything so conventional as releasing an album or more than two singles. Their ramshackle charm served them surprisingly well, however, and they amassed a tiny following of fans. This, then, is the album that they never really got round to recording; the collected ridiculous remnants of the career that never really was.

Les Incompetents: End Of An Error. nme Feb 23, 2007 3:01 pm. Les Incompetents: End Of An Error. With a shambles of an introduction, delivered somewhat bizarrely by David Walliams, ‘End Of An Error’ starts as it means to go on – as a riotous mess peppered with moments of brilliance. This post-split compilation showcases Les Incompetents’ twin obsessions of early ’90s children’s TV and going out and losing your mind
