I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling Gotta make you understand.

Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up" is a song written, produced and recorded by Barry White for his second album, Stone Gon' (1973). In June 1973, it was released as the first single in the United States and reached number two on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. It became a gold record. In Europe, it was issued in early 1974 and peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. Australian 7" single. Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up" – 3:58. I've Found Someone" – 5:55.

When he recorded "Never Gonna Give You Up" with Stock, Aitken and Waterman in October 1986, it was clear that anything they issued was headed for the charts. Stock, Aitken and Waterman are big names in Europe, but not in America, where Astley is their biggest success story. Thirteen of their productions made in the UK, including "Respectable" by Mel & Kim and "I Should Be So Lucky" by Kylie Minogue. Only three topped the US chart and two of them are by Astley: "Never Gonna Give You Up" and "Together Forever" (Bananarama's cover of "Venus" is the other). British artists often had huge hits in their homeland but found the American market tougher to crack.

Once the internet revived the song’s popularity, some realized Robo’s theme from the Super Nintendo game Chrono Trigger bore a striking resemblance to Never Gonna GIve You Up. It was a coincidence, as the game’s composer had never heard Rick Astley’s song. Still, mash-ups of both are common.

Authentication Reminder.

Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley is featured on Just Dance 4. The dancer is a man. He is dressed up as a superhero. He has brown combed hair and wears a purple jumpsuit over his orange undershirt, orange underwear over his jumpsuit, a yellow cape with a pair of straps, and yellow boots.
