The Beach Boys is the 25th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 10, 1985. Produced by Steve Levine, the album is the band's first recording after the drowning death of founding member Dennis Wilson. It was also the band's first album to be recorded digitally and the last released by James William Guercio's Caribou Records
20/20 is the 15th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on February 10, 1969. The LP was named for being their 20th overall album release. Much of it consists of outtakes from earlier albums. It reached number 3 on UK record charts and number 68 in the US. Brian Wilson was absent during most of the album's recording after admitting himself into a psychiatric hospital, requiring brothers Carl and Dennis to retrieve several outtakes he had recorded years earlier.
Considered by many as the first "serious" Beach Boys album. The pre-cursor to "Pet Sounds". Recorded at a time when Brian Wilson was beginning to focus all his attention on the music and recording/producing in the studio. The first album to be released after his famous (or infamous) nervous breakdown and after he decided to no longer tour with the group. In my opinion, "Today!" is hands down tied for second best Beach Boys album (tied with "Summer Days!!" and way better than "Pet Sounds" . The album concludes with a radio interview of the group talking about playing in Europe. As they discuss Europe we hear the group opening up fast food wrappers/bags.
The Beach Boys are America’s most legendary rock & roll saga-and one of its most turbulent, with a twisted family history at the heart of it. The Wilson brothers were suburban California boys: Brian, the haunted pop genius hearing the harmonies in his head. Carl, the shy kid with the heavenly voice. Dennis, the wild-ass drummer who lived the cars-and-surf lifestyle Brian just sang about. A whole album of Fun, Fun, Fun, stretched out to a double-vinyl portrait of the life and death of the American dream. Endless Summer has all the early hits – from the joyride of I Get Around to the moody gloom of In My Room. It cuts off before Pet Sounds, but it still remains their essential anthology – if only because you’re guaranteed not to run into Kokomo.
The Beach Boys is the 25th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 10, 1985. It was also the band's first album to be recorded digitally and the last released by James William Guercio's Caribou Records. Studio album by. The Beach Boys. Two videos were produced to promote the album: "Getcha Back" and "It's Gettin' Late. Both videos feature a stereotypical nerd as the central character who socializes near the beach. In "Getcha Back", all band members are featured in a story of childhood love separated until the couple reaches their teenage years.
The only Beach Boys member to be appear in "It's Gettin' Late" is Brian Wilson, who has a cameo at the end of the video where he picks up a seashell and listens to the song, "California Calling".
