Flyin' saucers rock and roll, flyin' saucers rock and roll I couldn't understand the things they said But that crazy beat just a stopped me dead. Well the little green men, they were real hep-cats Rockin' and a-rollin' to the crazy flats They brought out a sax and they started to blow They brought out the drums and they started to roll. Flyin' saucers rock and roll, flyin' saucers rock and roll I couldn't understand the things they said But that crazy beat just a stopped me dead. Well, I come out a-hidin' and I started to rock.

Billy Lee Riley (October 5, 1933 – August 2, 2009) was an American rockabilly musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. His most memorable recordings include "Rock With Me Baby", "Flyin' Saucers Rock and Roll" and "Red Hot". He learned to play the guitar from black farm workers. After four years in the Army, he first recorded in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1955, before being persuaded by Sam Phillips to record for Sun Studios
Sun was the Memphis label that had recently struck pay dirt with runaway hits by newcomers Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and a hip-swiveling heartthrob named Elvis Presley. As even the most casual rock fan may have already guessed, Flyin’ Saucers Rock ’n’ Roll did not become a huge hit for Billy Lee Riley.
