Beyond the Past is based on flanged lines and has a deeper percussive approach than the previous tracks. Subtle pads run along the sequence and FM bell tones complete the list of ingredients. As an extra dose of Oscar Mulero, the digital version includes an alternative remix of Mirada Muerta. Crazy step-sequenced lines, dry kicks, reverberated hats and some acid drops to close the equation. The digital version also boasts Castaway in its original shape.

Lyrics to "Echo From The Past" song by Beyond The Black: Forgotten doesn't mean forgiven I feel sinister eyes Embraced with fear I dare to wonder If love's . .Too much time I locked the truth away Too much time until my judgement day. Can you hear the echo, Can you hear the echo from the past? Can you hear the echo, Arisen from an ancient vast? Can you hear the echo? And I'm letting go, the die is cast I've got to face a dark arcanum Am I the one to breathe my last? Can you hear the echo from the past? Forgotten doesn't mean forgiven No more I have a choice It screams at me all day and night The omniscient voice. My demons journeyed through the ages They haunt me in my dreams May I surrender to my destiny

Excellent, functional release with a remarkable show stealing effort by Oscar Mulero. The remaining tracks, while all worthwhile efforts, are all more or less effective floor filling ammo that you wouldn't want to leave running on its own for too long.A special mention would have to go to Vice Of Kings, led by incisive, nasty synths and tight, cannon ball like percussion. Hefty, sturdy and damn right cyclically pounding and tough. Proper tunneling darkness. But it's label boss who takes the cake this time around. Although his remix work has become sort of ubiquitous, meaning you can hardly find a Pole Group or Warm Up Recordings record without it, and some of it is autopilot material, this is off the hinges techno artillery that has been sending dance arenas to la la land for well over twelve months now, as there is hardly a DJ around that has the tendency of hammering it home proper without this on their repertoire. The percussion drops are super tight, the bass line is one of those obliterating, cavernous tidal wave affairs - impossible to ignore. Heard this dropped by none other than Paula Temple and knew right of it had to be in my bag as well. Really takes your set to new heights. What really had me sold is the piercing synth section. Listen closely how the entire sound structure gains momentum with each subsequent sound eruption. It almost sounds like a modern version of Surgeon's epochal Intro (Version II), with slightly irritating, metal scraping effects. The old schoolers among you ought to be all over this one. Properly executed full on techno hysteria. While the entire four tracker is quality, Oscar Mulero launches the maker's already rugged sound into the outer orbital complex.
