Longing is the debut studio album by the Seattle-based doom metal band Bell Witch, released on November 13, 2012 through Profound Lore Records. The album began Bell Witch's trend of slow, low, and mournful music for which the band would become known. Andy O'Connor of Pitchfork magazine praised the album's haunting, melancholic nature, and highlighted the vocals as particularly effective in evoking a bleak atmosphere.

Seattle based duo BELL WITCH have, since their inception in 2010, carved a unique niche in the metal scene. Utilising only bass, drums and vocals to create a mournful, melodic take on minimalism and an ethereal but crushing approach to magnitude. Their most recent LP, Mirror Reaper (Profound Lore) was recorded by Billy Anderson and is their most focused, structured and melancholy release to date.

Bell Witch was formed in Seattle in 2010 by drummer Adrian Guerra (also of Sod Hauler and Lethe), and bassist Dylan Desmond (also of Samothrace). The duo released two albums, Longing in 2012 and Four Phantoms in 2015, before Guerra left the band due to health reasons. He later died in 2016. In 2017, with new drummer Jesse Shreibman, Bell Witch released Mirror Reaper, a single 83 minute long song, to critical acclaim.

Extremly weak 9, probably because its Bell Witch. Posts: 223 From: Germany. Still to this day amazed how most of Bell Witch's sound is "just" an even better version of Worship's sound. Better vocals for the most part and a more grand sound which fits the compositions more.
