Danielle Dax (born 23 September 1958) is an English experimental musician and producer most active from the late-1970s to the mid-1990s. She was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Born Danielle Gardner, Dax's first performance on stage in London was when she was a pre-teen. She sang in Benjamin Britten's opera, Noye's Fludde (Noah's Flood), at the Royal Albert Hall. Preceding this, the first time Dax appeared on stage was at the age of three as an Orange Jelly Baby on the Southend Bandstand.

This compilation, compiled by Dax herself on her own Biter of Thorpe label, features many of her B-sides and rare cuts like 'Cold Sweat', 'Hate On Sight' (with Shock Headed Peters) and 'Defiled'. The music mainly is from her mid to late 80s period, with nothing included from 'Blast The Human Flower' (which had been released on Sire Records), which is a shame, but more than likely due to licensing issues
Comatose Non Reaction. Danielle Dax is perhaps best known for her euro-dance club hit "Big Hollow Man" (featured on this compilation), a strangely addictive mix of goth electronica and eccentric country twang. In fact, this best describes the sound of this highly underrated talent from Britain, who appears topless on the cover of this CD, a move certain to enrage the western market sensibilities she denounces.
