Muddy Waters & Howlin' Wolf - Muddy & The Wolf album flac

The Howlin' Wolf Album is a 1969 album by Howlin' Wolf, with members of Rotary Connection as his backing band. It mixed blues with psychedelic rock arrangements of several of Howlin' Wolf's classic songs. Howlin' Wolf strongly disliked the album, which is noted on the album's cover. The album peaked at number 69 on Billboard magazine's Black Albums chart. In 1967, Marshall Chess formed Cadet Concept Records as a subsidiary of Chess Records

Waters and Wolf do not perform together on this disc. The first half, recorded in Chicago, features Muddy backed by some of his regular '60s band members plus '60s . blues-rockers Mike Bloomfield and Paul Butterfield. Wolf occupies the second half, taken from the LONDON HOWLIN' WOLF SESSIONS album. He's backed by British blues-influenced rockers including Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and the Stones' rhythm section. Despite the booklet's photo of Muddy and Wolf together, the notoriously paranoid Wolf had always regarded Muddy as a rival

The band on Super Super Blues Band included two-thirds of the original Super Blues headliners - Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley - with Howlin' Wolf replacing Little Walter to round out the trio. Unlike Walter, who was willing to cede the spotlight to Diddley and Waters on Super Blues, Wolf adamantly refuses to back down from his rivals, resulting in a flood of contentious studio banter that turns out to be more entertaining than the otherwise unmemorable music from this stylistic train wreck.
