Doing a Moonlight Import. Alkatraz are part of the Welsh "Tafia" bands that came out of South Wales in the 1960s and 1970s. WIll Youatt was bass player in Man. Don't tell anyone but I prefer them to Man in a way. Whereas Man are the supreme jammers, Alkatraz are tight as a sock and actually quite funky. I saw them live back in the day and at one of Man's Welsh Conventions, probably ten years ago, and they really cut it live too. This CD offers nothing over the original - no bonus tracks for example, but I don't mind that. Very good effort for this band in their one and only album. Music has a fusion of rock and funky that is interesting. The highlight, in my estimation, is the song Stay Out Of Town.
