The Johnny Cash albums discography chronicles the output of one of the most prolific recorded music artists of all time, singer Johnny Cash. His lengthy career, spanning 1954 to 2003, included the release of 96 albums on several record labels. Over the years, Cash also collaborated with many of the industry's most notable artists, and received many awards and accolades from different organizations.

Unchained (Johnny Cash album). Unchained, also known as American II: Unchained, is the second album in Johnny Cash's American Recordings series (and his 82nd overall). It was released on November 5, 1996, by American Recordings. Like all of Cash's albums for American Recordings, Unchained was produced by Rick Rubin.

Wanted Man (Johnny Cash album). Wanted Man is a compilation album from country singer Johnny Cash and was released in 1994. This album contains some popular songs of Cash like "Wanted Man" and "The Night Hank Williams Came to Town"; it also has the remake of the song "Ballad of A Teenage Queen" (from the 1988 album Water from the Wells of Home). When Cash signed with Mercury Records, his popularity went down, but the album got some attention.

Johnny Cash had different backing bands, tried different approaches and went through some turbulent periods in his personal life, but somehow he never lost touch with who he was, both as a creative artist and as a human being. The second great prison recording by Johnny Cash to feature in my top 10, featuring his classic late 60s backing band. This album was the follow-up to the best-selling and critically acclaimed: At Folsom and was released in 1969. The live performance was also filmed by Britain’s Granada . and clips of the concert feature in the documentary they made about Cash.

Silver (Johnny Cash album). Silver is the 62nd album by American country singer Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records in 1979. It peaked at on the Billboard albums chart. (Ghost) Riders In The Sky" peaked at on the singles chart; the two other singles, "Bull Rider" and "I'll Say It's True", reached and respectively. Recordings of "Cocaine Blues" had previously appeared on At Folsom Prison and Now, There Was a Song!, under the title "Transfusion Blues" on the latter.

Johnny Cash was the only infallible man on earth. The popular story goes like this: It’s 1994 and Johnny Cash’s career is all but dead. My grandpa never bought a Johnny Cash album after American Recordings. He didn’t like this album because it was the first time he ever heard Johnny Cash sound weak, and he didn’t want to hear that. It was a Johnny Cash my grandpa didn’t want to know existed, a Johnny Cash who could die soon. It sounded to him like a man revealing himself too much, being too vulnerable. That generational divide is important. I have problems with every Johnny Cash album Rick Rubin produced, though I like all of them
