Since the release of Outside Closer, Hood has toured with Why? promoting his album Elephant Eyelash and released various remixes: including 'The Negatives' with vocals by British MC Jehst. Chris also has a solo side project called Bracken, and in 2007 released the album We Know About the Need on Anticon. Outside Closer proves that there can be beauty in simplicity when it comes to indie music. The album is a collection of great tracks layered with simple yet effective vocals, piano, strings and a hint of electronics. Outside Closer" seems to be the pinnacle of Hood's pursuit of the bleak and despondent. Despite the record's mood, this is Hood's most consistent and refined work to date.
