Vintage Hawaiian Music, Vol. 1: Steel Guitar Masters (1928-1934). This rounder companion to a Hawaiian singer's showcase collects prime 78s cut between 1928-1934, a period considered to be the golden age of Hawaiian music. Standout players include master guitarist Sol Hoopii and the svelte playing George Ku; while Hoopii goes in for some jazz on "Lady Be Good," Ku sticks to the traditional hula on "Na Ali'i. The recordings were made all around the world too (. Highlights include one of the earliest known recordings of "My Little Grass Shack" and Jim & Bob, the Genial Hawaiians' smooth and lowdown "Hula Blues.
The album features Sol K. Bright's Hollywaiians, Kalama's Quartet, the Sol Hoopii Trio, the Waikiki Stonewall Boys, the Moes, with Mme. Riviere's Hawaiians and many others. This product is manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media. 14. Ama Ama - Sam Alama. 15. E Mama Ea - Mme. Riviere's Hawaiians (The Moes). If you are a fan of early Jazz, a guitar aficionado, or just a lover of Hawaiian music, this disc will be a welcome addition to your music collection. 21 people found this helpful.
