Ghost Reveries is the eighth full-length album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth. It was released on August 29, 2005. It was their first album after signing with Roadrunner Records. Ghost Reveries is the first album by Opeth to include keyboardist Per Wiberg as a "permanent" member (although Wiberg contributed keyboard work to Opeth's live performances starting around the time of Lamentations), and it is the last Opeth album to include drummer Martin Lopez and long-time guitarist Peter Lindgren.

The album is filled with heavy, intricate, and precisely performed guitar riffs. You can't avoid the monstrous riffs in a song like "The Grand Conjuration". As the band's main composer, Mikael Åkerfeldt successfully managed to transfer his dark emotions into all those twisted solos, surrounded then by wall of even thicker riffs. Opeth has had many different styles during their career, and has been pulling them off perfectly ever since their first album. Before recording the live CD and DVD, "The Roundhouse Tapes", They came out with their 8th full length record, Ghost Reveries. This album is a certain breakthrough for this particular band, and is considered one of their greatest, if not their best yet.
