The group Recordando o Vale das Maçãs was founded in 1973 in Santos, Sao Paulo coast through the union of three young musicians: Fernando Pacheco, Fernando Motta and Dominic Mariotti. Their musical proposal, was to channel the experience gained in contact with nature, through music. The compositions had influences from various styles like rock, classical music resulting in a fusion progressive original and striking.

According to the CD booklet, "As Craicas da Nova Floresta" (1977, "Nova Floresta" hereafter), was the only album released by the Brazilian band Recordando o Vale das Macas (RVM hereafter) during the first ten years of their existence. This CD reissue includes all five of the tracks from the "Nova Floresta" LP and both 'sides' of a 1982 single.

This album offers really some great symphonic prog moments. Nonetheless, this remarkable work should attract your ears, heart and writing skills. This is an excellent album. Symph prog at its best.
