According to the The New York Times, this track "almost never came to b. "All I Need" originally appeared on Method Man's Tical album in leaner, rougher form, with a mantra-like hook that did not evoke Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Right now, several remixes are high on the charts. The remix to Makonnen's "Tuesday," with a verse from Drake, is currently at No. 12 and climbing on the Hot 100. Trailing behind it (No. 19) is Mr. Probz's "Waves": the version that pumps smoothly on American radio is a remix by the German DJ Robin Schulz. If you look at the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, you'll find another Schulz reworking - of Lilly Wood's "Prayer In C" - in the fourth spot, two notches ahead of "Waves.

Oftentimes the newer version draws out the original’s complexities in a way you never would have noticed before. Or maybe the first version is equally compelling, but the cover artist reimagined it with such grandeur that many don’t even realize that it’s a new take on an old song. Whether converting dance bangers to melancholic ballads or pop hits to garage-rock anthems, sometimes a complete 180 is exactly what a track was missing. 50. Thou, Something in the Way (Nirvana). Found on the band’s 1970 album Loaded, the Velvet Underground original is a stately ballad, influenced by Lou Reed’s adoration of ‘50s doo-wop and dreamy Phil Spector productions, complete with a spoken word lament/plea to a lover. Chan Marshall’s version, by contrast, is of a piece with most of the material she recorded for her 2000 Covers Record.

Im normally a big fan of Miguel Migs but his remix here is disappointing. The melody is sparse and the bassline not particularly funky. As a result the track sounds pretty bland. Much better is the Richard Earnshaw Latin Excursion. It's deep & funky with some lovely melodies & piano samples. The vocal is well used also. For anyone not big into vocals the Instrumental Excursion is also worth checking out.
