Chase the Dragon is the third studio album by English rock band Magnum. It was released in 1982 on Jet Records. Overseen by the Kansas producer Jeff Glixman, Chase the Dragon was the first recorded appearance by the new keyboard player Mark Stanway, although he had made his live debut at Magnum's appearance at the Reading Festival in 1980.

Chase the Dragon is the third studio album by the English rock band Magnum. The album was recorded over 13 days at Town House Studios in London, and the following year Tony Clarkin flew to Axis Studios in Atlanta to mix it. However, there was a two-year delay before the album's release in 1982.

Magnum emerged from the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) movement to a band where hard rock is mixed with prog influences. Their third album Chase The Dragon is a cult classic, which reached the Top 20 in the UK charts. It can be seen as their breakthrough album, including outstanding tracks like Soldier On The Line and The Spirit. Keyboard intros giving the tracks an epic feel and the aggressive guitar riffs blending well with the rest of the melodies. This is the sound of a band at their peak and has everything to offer for rock and prog lovers

The Eleventh Hour is the fourth studio album by English rock band Magnum, released in 1983 by Jet Records. The production of this album caused a lot of tension between the band and Jet Records, following the two-year delay to the previous album, Chase the Dragon in 1982 and their first album, Kingdom of Madness, in 1978. These tensions were further strained when Jet Records denied the band a big name producer, leaving them to produce the album themselves.

Magnum's Chase The Dragon is perhaps one of their finest albums, although I admit to owning only this album and the excellent 'On A Storyteller's Night'. The album has a reputation for boasting some of the best material in the band's repertoire. Absolute bonafide classics such as 'Soldier Of The Line', 'The Spirit', 'Sacred Hour' and 'The Lights Burned Out' have become live staples and feature prominently on just about every 'best of' compilations, and they all hail from this glorious album
