The Noise is the 20th studio album by the English singer and songwriter Peter Hammill. As the title implies, the album is a collection of uptempo rock songs, in sharp contrast to Hammill's previous album, Fireships, which consisted mainly of ballads. The album was announced on its sleeve as "Number 1 in the A Loud series" (Fireships had similarly been labelled as "Number 1 in the BeCalm series").

I never really cared about What Is Noise or No More Music By The Suckers it was all about Five Seconds To Terminate for me.

Lonesome Orange Kid

An excellent techno-house release, under a real influence of kraftwerkian electro. The Stand-out here is "No more music by the suckers", build around a sample of the title words, it is also the harshiest of this EP, more rave in the rough sense of the word, a testimony of a time were a track could be considered either as house, techno or hardcore techno, and even acid trance in a way. Quite similar in a way to the early Monochrome releases from Wolfgang Voigt. Both other two tracks are very good, really enjoyable as much as clever. Both make aextenive use of Kraftwerk samples or sequences, but in a creative way, and with a real sincere electro way.
