Like many pianists leaving full-time education Barere proceeded to make a living as a touring virtuoso. Simon Barere made his British recital debut in 1934 and his concerto debut, with the conductor Sir Thomas Beecham, playing the Tchaikovsky’s B-flat minor Piano Concerto. These records spread his name across the Atlantic and led to his Carnegie Hall debut in 1936.
