The End of the Innocence (album). The End of the Innocence is the third solo studio album by Don Henley, the lead vocalist and drummer for the Eagles. The album was released in 1989, on Geffen Records, and would be his last release on that label. It was also his last solo album of the 1980s and it would be eleven years before he released another solo album, 2000's Inside Job.
The end of innocence applies much more closely with those of us who were drafted into the military than it does with Reagan's all-volunteer military. How can you claim a loss of innocence by joining a military that you volunteered for? But I think the real end of the innocence was the loss of faith in the government when we found out that LBJ lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident to get us into the war and that Congress was doing all it could to prevent the war from coming to a successful conclusion. G from Potomac, MdDoes anyone else feel like Don Henley criticizing lawyers in this song (lawyers dwell on small details, etc) is a little bit inappropriate? Let's not forget that this is the same Don Henley who was arrested for being caught with a sixteen year old prostitute, cocaine, cannabis, and perscription drugs not perscribed to him in Las Vegas.

The discography of Don Henley, singer and drummer for the rock group The Eagles, consists of five studio albums, two compilation albums, and 27 solo singles. As a solo artist, Henley released his debut album, I Can't Stand Still, on August 13, 1982, via Asylum Records. This was his only album for the label. The album reached a peak of number 24 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It features the Top 5 single on the Billboard Hot 100, "Dirty Laundry".

Don Henley was already a rock legend when he released his third solo album, so he didn't necessarily have to make it a deeply felt work of personal growth. Yet haunting ballads like "The Heart of the Matter" and "New York Minute" reveal Henley's most contemplative and mature side to the world.
