Steve E. Nix and The Cute Lepers (commonly known as The Cute Lepers) are a power pop infused punk rock band from Seattle, Washington, started by Steve E. Nix of The Briefs. The band was formed in 2007 during the current Briefs hiatus. The Cute Lepers have released a 7" single on 1-2-3-4 Go! Records and another on Drunk'n'Roll, No Front Teeth Records.
The Briefs are an American punk rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2000 and originally consisting of Daniel J. Travanti (guitar/vocals), Steve E. Nix (guitar/vocals), Lance Romance (bass/vocals) and Chris Brief (drums/vocals). They play punk rock music, influenced by acts such as Buzzcocks, The Undertones and The Adverts. They released their first full-length album, Hit After Hit, in October 2000 via Dirtnap Records.
The Cute Lepers have released a 7" single on 1-2-3-4 Go! Records and another on Drunk'n'Roll, No Front Teeth Records. The band released a full-length LP in February 2008 on 1-2-3-4 Go!. The Cute Lepers signed to Joan Jett's Blackheart Records (United States) and Damaged Goods (UK and Europe) in 2008. The Cute Lepers regularly play throughout the Pacific Northwest, United States, and Europe. In early 2009, The Cute Lepers' Modern Music won in The 8th Annual Independent Music Awards for Best Punk Album
Nix is handling guitar and lead vocals in the group, with former New Town Animal Kicks on bass . Four songs, including "So Screwed Up," "Terminal Boredom," "It's Summertime Baby" and "Day After The En. are streaming from MySpace now. The band played their first gig on the 21st of April, with another scheduled for June 15th at Seattle's Comet Tavern. Briefs to release new album in April. Briefs and Stitches to tour West Coast and Texas. CJ Ramone, Booze & Glory to play Sjock Festival 2018. Nix and The Cute Lepers (commonly known as The Cute Lepers) are a power pop infused punk rock band from Seattle . And "Terminal Boredom" was nominated for Punk Song of the year.
