This is a rather unique release by Dave Brubeck because it features the veteran pianist/composer with four of his sons, saxophonist Bobby Militello, and bassist Alec Dankworth, along with the London Symphony Orchestra in a concert played not long after his 80th birthday in December 2000.

At Carnegie Hall is a jazz live album by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. It was recorded at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City on Friday, February 22, 1963. David Warren Brubeck (/ˈbruːbɛk/; December 6, 1920 – December 5, 2012) was an American jazz pianist and composer, considered one of the foremost exponents of cool jazz. He wrote a number of jazz standards, including "In Your Own Sweet Way" and "The Duke". Brubeck's style ranged from refined to bombastic, reflecting both his mother's attempts at classical training and his own improvisational skills.

This February 1960 concert date saw the classic Dave Brubeck Quartet lineup performing for more than 10,000 German fans at the Essen Grugahalle amphitheater. While the track listing is fairly standard fare for their performances of this era (the song listed as "Unknown Song" is "You Go to My Head"), and there are a couple of humanizing flubs (Desmond has a rare false-start 30 seconds into "Blue Rondo"), the concert was professionally recorded, putting this release on a sonic par with some of the Columbia Records. This is a double album set that contains the Copenhagen concert from March 5, 1958 that was recorded live for Columbia records and released as an catalog number CL 1168. This performance is the classic quartet line-up comprised on Dave Brubeck on piano, Paul Desmond on alto sax, Gene Wright on bass and Joe Morello on drums.
