It peaked at on the Billboard 200, and has been certified a gold album.
Between 1974 and 1984, they released eight studio albums and one compilation, all of which were certified as gold or platinum for sales.
The album received a RIAA gold certification within six months, selling as well as most Jefferson Airplane albums Although the single "Ride the Tiger" only reached on the Billboard charts, the album itself hit "Hyperdrive" was used in the opening ceremonies of the 1976 World Science Fiction Convention, MidAmeriCon, in Kansas City, Missouri.
5. Devils Den. 6. Come to Life. Love Among the Cannibals.
It also was the first real JS record, after the crash landing in the early 1970s of the Jefferson Airplane.
But this is better: Dragon Fly is at worst listenable and at best surprisingly engaging. New guitarist Craig Chaquico makes up in ebullience what he lacks in subtlety, Pete Sears (on bass and keyboards) is a pro, and the leading couple sounds almost excited at times. Long-time Airplane devotees will love the album, if only for its best track, the sexy and nostalgic Caroline, which reunites Marty Balin with what has become of his band.
