Crown of Creation is the fourth studio album by the San Francisco psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, and was released by RCA Victor in September 1968. It saw the band continuing their development of psychedelic music from their previous album, After Bathing at Baxter's.

Jefferson Airplane rose to fame during the second half of the 1960s with performances at the famous rock festivals Monterey (1967), Woodstock (1969) and Altamont (1969). After their 1967 break-out album Surrealistic Pillow they grew to worldwide fame and in 1996 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 180 gram audiophile vinyl. the hit singles "Greasy Heart" and "Crown of Creation".

Crown of Creation is the first Jefferson Airplane album I ever heard. This is the group at their best but unlike other bands in their genre (60s acid rock), it doesn't resort to long guitar solos. Instead, you get the group playing tightly with very thoughtful arrangements such as 'Lather' or the cover of David Crosby's 'Triad'.
