Chaka Demus & Pliers unleashed a hat trick of albums in 1992 - a self-titled set, Gal Wine (which bundled up a batch of recent Jamaican hits), and Ruff This Year. The latter was overseen by producer R. "Blackbeard" Sinclair, and was titled after yet another of the duo's smash Jamaican hits. The pair was on the verge of international stardom; it would arrive in the new year with the Sly & Robbie-produced set All She Wrote. All its ingredients are already here, and in truth this album is at least its successor's equal. The entire set boasts an incredible joie de vivre, and Chaka Demus & Pliers' enthusiasm for their music and their art is evident throughout. The fabulous title track finds our heroes bouncing right back against all adversity as they wrestle the competition to the ground.

John Taylor (born 16 April 1963), better known as Chaka Demus, is a Jamaican reggae musician and DJ, best known as part of the duo Chaka Demus & Pliers. Born in West Kingston, Taylor was a regular attendee at Kingston dances and was given a chance by Prince Jammy to DJ on his sound system. Upon releasing his debut single, the Jammy-produced "Increase Your Knowledge" in 1985, he was virtually unknown. None of his early records saw chart success, though they later met with increased success.

Chaka Demus & Pliers are Jamaicans John Taylor (Chaka Demus) and Everton Bonner (Pliers) active together since 1992: one of the most successful acts in Jamaican music; the first Jamaican act to place three consecutive singles in the top five of the British music charts. Both Chaka Demus and Pliers had established successful solo careers prior to combining their efforts.
