Edward Ka-Spel (born Edward Francis Sharp, 23 January 1954 in London) is an English singer/songwriter and musician residing in Nijmegen, Netherlands. He is best known for his work with the band The Legendary Pink Dots, which he co-founded. He is also known for his work on The Tear Garden with Skinny Puppy's cEvin Key. In 2017, he collaborated with Amanda Palmer on the album I Can Spin a Rainbow.

Ka-Spel trudges with gloomy resolve through pretty but pained chord changes, a despondent song on his lips. Dominated by candy-tone keyboards, hypnotic loops, and dazed chamber-music arrangements, RED LETTERS' more mirthful moments recall not only the Dots' first four full-lengths (as do most Ka-Spel solo albums), but also the late-'80s solo work of Wire's Colin Newman. The mystical "Illumina 3/ The Carrier," "Grooovy," and the closing medley wind through sample-warped atmospheric fronts, brushing against trippy, dub-circus beats.

Edward Ka-Spel: Maybe it’s just a stage the world has to go through. People need to learn; you can’t lean on a man in the sky, or some sort of politician and ultimately you it comes down to yourself-you are the governor of your own soul. But it is amazing that those who live outside the imposed society, especially creative people-they find each other and build their own communities.
