En-Tact is an album by The Shamen, released in 1990. It was the first Shamen album to feature Mr C, and the last to feature Will Sinnott (who died on 23 May 1991). It fused the band's past psychedelic rock sounds with the rave act it became, developing a style that represented multicultural dance music. The album was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The version of En-tact released in the .
Amazing album from the early Shamen some brilliant diverse electronica, minus MR C the prancing prize twat who later joined the band and wrecked it putting cheesy raps on every tune. The original 1990 release with the original unmixed Human NRG is the best with black cover and silver writing, not the remixed later 91 pop version. They should release the original 1990 black cover LP on 180G. Brilliant album and way ahead of the curve. Classic great sleeve artwork too. Reply See 2 replies Notify me 1 Helpful. The fact that "En-Tact" was rereleased with the addition of Mr. C's yammering indicates it further. En-Tact" is a brilliant release, but only if you can find the original presented above. Originating in the British rave scene, the vocal-dance sensationalism of The Shamen was evident while being feverishly pumped from the DJ booths of early techno pioneers. Finding critical acclaim among the substantive corps of dance culture, they released En-Tact, their first major-label offering. Crossing electronic currents, the tracks come off hard with trance beats, soul stylings, rap-attack incantations, vocal duels, and snarling tones. Relying on the wired sounds of drum machines and sequencers, the rhythmic pulses push sound systems to their limit.
Besides being one of the few early British dance albums worth its weight in artistry as well as sound, En-Tact is a truly historical gathering of the cream of the new dance music; mixing and production come from a cast including Paul Oakenfold, William Orbit, Graham Massey, Orbital, Evil Eddie Richards, the Beatmasters, Meat Beat Manifesto, Joey Beltram, Tommy Musto, the Irresistible. Force and Caspar Pound.
