Moody Blue is the twenty-fourth and final studio album by American singer and musician Elvis Presley, released by RCA Records in July 1977, four weeks before his death. The album was a mixture of live and studio work, and included the four tracks from Presley's final studio recording sessions in October 1976 and two tracks left over from the previous Graceland session in February 1976.
Moody Blue" is a song made famous by Elvis Presley. The song was written by Mark James who recorded the original version of the song, which reached in South Africa during the summer of 1976. James also penned Elvis' "Suspicious Minds". Moody Blue" was Presley's last No. 1 hit in his lifetime, topping the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart in February 1977.

The last Elvis Presley album released in the singer's lifetime, Moody Blue has a somewhat checkered history, especially among fans. Issued two months before Presley died, the album sold moderately well until Presley died - then it soared up the charts to number three, as his most current album, and it ultimately sold two million copies. As to the music, the original ten-song album was a mixed bag of live recordings, interspersed with new studio work from the previous fall at Graceland
This album, ELVIS, MOODY BLUE, incorporates two albums previously released but now in one CD. It is Elvis at his vocal and emotional best, despite his failing health. The recordings were made at Graceland as Elvis, for whatever reason, did not want to go to RCA's recording studio. The principal vocals and combo backups were done at Graceland and the orchestral and choir backups were added later at the studio. Almost every tune is contemplative, melancholy and more than likely a mea culpa for time lost and frittered away on temporal pleasures. It is Elvis with more heart and soul than any.

The black vinyl, however, for the Moody Blue LP, is worth more. So it's not black label, it's black vinyl that's worth up to prob. k views · View 3 Upvoters · Answer requested by.
