Based on an arctic theme, this CD offers the listener seven tracks of frozen atmospheres, cold textures and icy forms, all realized with classic analogue synth sounds. Including gear by Moog, ARP, Sequential Circuits, Oberheim, Roland, Yamaha and many others from a bygone era, the equipment list reads like a keyboard catalog from the 70's and 80's.

The second album on Air Space Records by Jeffrey Koepper is largely sequencer based, and is built on long repetitive riffs with overlay of some strings and other effects. The whole album is most reminiscent of the type of compositions and atmosphere of Steve Roach's "Empetus" album, but it lacks the overwhelming feeling of power and dynamic of the latter. All in all an excellent album of sequencer-based synth, and one that really grows with repeated listening.

I was surprised to hear some of the old German psychedelic ambient school in the sounds of this great artist. I wasn't expected much in the beginning, very mild sounds, but while I was getting deeper to this album, it turn me back to my childhood and evoke some old forgotten feelings in me. This sound bring you right back in the state of forgetfulness with a sense of deeper darkness in which you can find peace and tranquility. This is the album that psychedelic fans of old and hard psychedelic post modern rock synthesized sound were waiting for long time. If you are fan of Red Shift and that German school sound, you will love this performer. This old school is especially sounding in the tracks 5. 6. & 7. you can almost touch the sound, and find exact same feeling as towards first decade of seventies, when all was bleach and grim, the world just entered in an era of modern thinking, and you can see the analogue sound in this pieces. The master of ambient sound, Steve Roach himself, arranged this album for Jeffrey Koepper. This artist really shock my intelligence and my feelings. I was really thought this sound is dead, but now I am cheering for a better future with this kind of composers. This album is just a state of the art in ambient, psychedelic post modern rock sound, it is a must, for a older listeners and fans. Now a little a bit of Jeffrey himself: Momentium is Koepper's second solo release. This release features more of Jeffrey Koepper's rhythmic sequencer compositions. Jeffrey Koepper has been releasing excellent electronic music since 1985 in various groups and collaborations. Koepper is a unique electronic composer in today's world in that he uses a wide variety of vintage synthesizers and sequencers to create his emotional evolving sound-worlds. His mission is to create "The music of tomorrow with the technology of yesterday." Instruments by Oberheim, Arp, Sequential Circuits, Moog, PPG, Emu, Roland and others were put into service in the creation of Momentium. The use of the instruments is evident by the smooth lush organic textures that are not possible on modern instruments. All of the songs were created through live real time sound-sculpturing with the composer interacting directly with the tactile interface of the analogue synths and sequencers to make them live, breathe and come to life. Then the individual tracks are then mixed in real time using an analogue mixing desk and a variety of vintage effects devices. The composer melts the tracks into each other to create these beautiful soundscapes and rhythms. Steve Roach was integral in the final arrangement and finishing treatments of Momentium.
