Background information. Debby Boone was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, the third of four daughters born to singer-actor Pat Boone and Shirley Foley Boone, daughter of country music star Red Foley. When Boone was 14 years old, she began touring with her parents and three sisters: Cherry, Lindy, and Laury. The sisters first recorded with their parents as The Pat Boone Family and later as the Boones or Boone Girls. Butler also produced Boone's next album, 1981's Savin' It Up (No. 49 Country), which yielded two more country singles, "Perfect Fool" (No. 23 Country, No. 37 AC) and "It'll Be Him" (No. 46). Boone has not charted on either the Billboard AC or Country charts since the release of Savin' It Up.
This song is by Debby Boone and appears on the album Savin' It Up (1981). Mistakes I made enough to fill a book or two on loveBut you helped me change wrong to rightI finally did something perfect in my life. I was a perfect fool to believe youA perfect fool to think your love was trueFor once in my life I did something rightI was a perfect fool for you. I'm used to being wrongLike thinking you loved me all alongI've been a fool I must admitBut at least I did a perfect job of it.
Lyrics Artists: D Debby Boone Perfect Fool. Say good-bye Why I can barely say goodnight If I can hardly take my eyes from yours How far can I go. Walk away The thought would never cross my mind I couldn't turn my back on spring or fall Your smile least of all.
