Fanfare at 145. Appalachian Spring at 154, and Rodeo at 288. Chances are that only Rodeo will appeal to a person just starting a Classical collection, and of this, only Hoe Down which lasts but a few minutes. As with Naxos's Copland Symphony No. 3 disc, one can make no generalisations about foreign orchestras playing this music. I have probably enjoyed this Appalachian Spring almost as much as the composer's own with the London Symphony. 5 people found this helpful.
