This is a soul-stirring release performed by Pat Metheny and a plethora of friends, all great jazz musicians in their own right. Works II is a compilation of his finest work, spread out from the years 1976 to 1984. This andleader became one of the leading names in the jazz genre during the '70s and '80s. This collection of beautifully written numbers reflects his character of good taste and the unique flavor of his graceful, even-flowing solos.

A compilation of tracks from Pat Metheny's solo album (New Chautauqua), Pat Metheny Group albums (American Garage and Offramp), his collaboration with Lyle Mays (As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls) and 2 tracks from his 80/81 album with jazz luminaries Charlie Haden, Michael Brecker and Jack DeJohnette.

Quartet (1996) is an album by the Pat Metheny Group. The album features Pat Metheny on guitar, Lyle Mays on keyboards, Steve Rodby on bass, and Paul Wertico on drums. Most of the tracks were loosely written or improvised, using several unusual instruments. The Group itself never played these songs live, though Metheny played a longer version of "When We Were Free" with his trio on the album Day Trip. As I Am" was played during trio concerts with Michael Brecker.

PAT METHENY Works VINYL LP 1985, Group Guitarist It's for You Autograph, SIGNED. Flow and element that Pat Metheny produced this album in Oslo in Norway via ECM. And, his until transfered the register to Geffen Record work might have created music high-quality as indeed agreed with those elements. It is not an exaggeration to say that the element to which the performance a new creation is always brought in to the item of Jazz/Fusion after it debuts and with a deep, transparent feeling is taken might agree with his character and situation.

When comparing Pat Metheny's "Works" to ":Rarum", those two songs choices are the only advantage :Rarum has over this collection. I am assuming that ECM's Manfred Eicher chose these tracks, thus giving Works a much more stand-alone album feel, representing that so-called "ECM sound".
