If you prefer for your rolls to be a little larger, you can cut the dough into 30 pieces. Cover rolls, let them rise for 30-40 minutes, or until doubled, and bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Matti Laamanen returns once again under his new, unusually titled ‘Wednesday Rolls’ alias. Much like a number of releases under the ‘Sundawner’ alias, the tracks present here are in a distinctly progressive vein, with Laamanen applying his trademark sounds and breezy atmospheres across all four productions. However, this is a much more experimental take on his own sound, as he seeks to incorporate and blend in a number of new and exciting elements. This is particularly evident throughout the first two tracks on the CD; opener ‘Strange Clouds’ drives along powerfully on top of darting synths and swirling atmospheres, whilst ‘Bended Face’, the most experimental track on the E.P., offers a much more conspicuous change of tack sound-wise. Laamanen fuses together a grinding, fuzzy, electro-influenced bassline with trippy, futuristic keys, yet still manages to retain the original ‘core’ elements of his sound within the production. Nevertheless, the much more familiar sounds of ‘Virga’ and ‘Hopero’ are my favourite productions here. The light and airy ‘Virga’ has an effortless aura similar to that of ‘Bizarre’ (from the ‘Sundawner’ alias), whilst ‘Hopero’, my favourite production on the E.P., utilises a much more ‘organic’ percussion sound that is washed over by gliding synths and techy stabs. I certainly hope that there will be more productions under this fledgling alias; the tracks present here are an exciting demonstration of Laamanen reshaping and redefining his own distinctive sound to create a multi-layered, multi-genre alternative to his excellent work under the ‘Cosmicman’ and ‘Sundawner’ aliases. Fascinating listening.
