Rick Nelson singing "Down Home", from his 1963 album 'Rick Nelson Sings For You'. Beautiful and poignant for a lost time. This song and many others that Ricky Nelson sang were songs I used to listen to growing up. I had a connection with his music and would sing along. I was not around in that error but enjoy his tunes in this one. Good memories. What a perfect song by Rick in 1963, the 'B' side to 'Fools rush in'. Probably one of the best guitar solos by James Burton too. 6 years назад.

Album: Rick Nelson Sings For You (1963). This inspired the title for the 1997 romantic comedy Fools Rush In, starring Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. Alex (Perry) decides to marry Isabel (Hayek) after a one-night stand leads to a pregnancy, but he's in for more than he bargained for when he meets her traditional Mexican family. The song, however, was not used in the movie. Rick Nelson performed this when he hosted Saturday Night Live on February 17, 1979. The lyric "fools rush in where angels fear to tread" is from Alexander Pope's 1709 poem "An Essay on Criticism.

Fools Rush In" is a standard that's been recorded by many jazz, pop, and rock artists, including Elvis Presley, Doris Day, Count Basie, and Lesley Gore. It was recorded back in 1940 by Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. The artists who had the most noted hits with it, however, were both in the pop-rock mold: Brook Benton and Rick Nelson.
