Eric Hilliard Nelson (May 8, 1940 – December 31, 1985) was an American rock and roll star, musician, and singer-songwriter. From age eight he starred alongside his family in the radio and television series The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. In 1957 he began a long and successful career as a popular recording artist.

Roughly a year after forming the Stone Canyon Band, Rick Nelson hits a lick on his Gibson ES-350 electric guitar featuring P90 pickups during a March 24, 1970 club appearance in Darmstadt, Germany, part of the artist’s tour of . The latter part of his career especially resonated with me. Rudy the Fifth is his seminal record. I don’t think it got the love that it deserved when it was released.
