Book of Love is the self-titled debut studio album by American synthpop and electronic band Book of Love, released on April 1, 1986, by Sire Records. Philadelphia/New York-based synthpop quartet Book of Love released their eponymous debut, Book of Love, in the spring of 1986, when synthpop was at its peak in the mid-'80s. During 1984 and 1985, the band recorded various demos at the recording studio Noise, in midtown Manhattan.

Sad Love story, this story if full of sadness and full of Love. This love is can be sadness.
I love Book of Love they have to be one of the best of the unknown groups of the 80's. This album has got some awkward tracks on it (unlike their next two albums: Lullaby and Candy Carol which is them at their absolute best). I can now appreciate that they were trying to get a feel for what their strong points were as a group at the time. Although I am a big fan I found this particular album to be lacking their usual cleverness and creativity. This is a must for the absolute fan, but probably not necessary for an 80's music collection.
