Massachusetts songwriter Doug Tuttle returns with his third solo album, 'Peace Potato', once again on Chicago label Trouble In Mind Records. His 2013 solo debut (after fronting his longtime psychedelic band, MMOSS) was an insular and foggy psychedelic masterpiece punctuated by Tuttle’s stinging guitar leads, accented by flashes of bedroom Fairport /Crazy Horse brilliance, towing the line nimbly between elegance and ragged assurance.

Massachusetts songwriter Doug Tuttle is preparing the release of his third solo album, Peace Potato, due May 5th via Trouble In Mind. Tuttle brings a bedroom pop sensibility (indeed, the album was made in his bedroom studio) to psychedelic rock styles on Peace Potato. Just when you’re settling into a vintage groove, Tuttle uses jump-cuts and other jarring transitions that jerk the listener back to the present moment. It’s all part of a dreamlike narrative that spans the compositions of Peace Potato. Tuttle is a former member of New Hampshire’s MMOSS

When it came time for his third record, Tuttle seemingly decided to sand away any traces of psych-pop haze and ornamentation in favor of a more stripped-down and simple approach. Peace Potato has a clear, clean sound built on crisply strummed guitars and layered with horns, chiming 12-string, and vintage keys. It's an East Coast version of heartland rock, something fans of Tom Petty or Johnny Cougar could understand instantly.
