Experience is a live album by Jimi Hendrix, released in August 1971 in the United Kingdom by Ember Records. The album is an incomplete soundtrack to the unreleased film Experience documenting the Jimi Hendrix Experience's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on February 24, 1969. It peaked at number nine in the . album charts in September 1971

Jimi Hendrix's second album followed up his groundbreaking debut effort with a solid collection of great tunes and great interactive playing between himself, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, and the recording studio itself. Wisely retaining manager Chas Chandler to produce the album and Eddie Kramer as engineer, Hendrix stretched further musically than the first album, but even more so as a songwriter. He was still quite capable of coming up with spacy rockers like "You Got Me Floating," "Up from the Skies," and "Little Miss Lover," radio-ready to follow on the.

Axis: Bold as Love, the second studio album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience was released in December of 1967. The record label chose an Indian based painting of the band for the cover because at the time, All Things Indian was the fad of the music world. The cover shows a painting of Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell superimposed over a mass-produced Hindu painting. Here is the actual photo of the band taken by photographer Kal Ferris and used by artist Roger Law for the painting

Album Axis: Bold as Love. Anger he smiles towering in shiny metallic purple armor Queen Jealousy, envy waits behind him Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted They quietly understand The once happy turquoise armies lay opposite ready But wonder why the fight is on. But they're all bold as love Yeah, they're all bold as love They're all bold as love Just ask the axis

Moon Turns the Tides placed The Jimi Hendrix Experience in the forefront along side Procol Harum, The Nice and others as far as stretching the boundaries of rock via complex and/or lengthy developed rock compositions. Also, as far as a live presentation of a rock performance goes circa 67-68, the lengthy improvisations that Hendrix and Mitchell would indulge in (while 'out-of-his-league' bassist Noel Redding hung on for dear life) were way ahead of fellow early rock bands in terms of instrumental technique, creative ideas and sonic presentation, except for possibly Deep Purple, Soft. Manager Chas Chandler was so impressed with Jimi's jam sessions with Keith Emerson that he had planned on bringing Keith into the studio for the recording of the album Axis Bold as Love. According to Chas, he liked what Emerson brought out in Jimi's playing.
