Big Business is an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, United States, founded by Jared Warren (Karp) and Coady Willis (The Murder City Devils). The band released its first album, Head for the Shallow, on January 25, 2005 through Hydra Head Records, the first of a three album run. In late 2006, after relocating to Los Angeles, Jared and Coady both became members of The Melvins, first appearing on (A) Senile Animal.

After their 2007 release 'Here Come the Waterworks' received much critical acclaim, Big Business was given an opening spot on the summer leg of the Tool tour, aftre which they started recording material for the new Melvins album, entitled 'Nude With Boots', released on July 8, 2008. The following year, Toshi Kasai was confirmed as the third member of Big Business, and the trio released third album 'Mind the Drift' on May 12, 2009. In October 2010 after a quiet year without any shows, they posted on their myspace that they had added another guitarist Scott Martin,. Their fifth album, and first new music in nearly three years, 'The Beast You Are' is due in April 2019. Big Business have US tour plans in April 2019 after touring with Clutch. Their second album as Big Business, Here Come the Waterworks seems at first like it should be the logical culmination of stoner metal, eliminating almost all the guitar in favor of non-stop rhythm section sludge. But while stoner metal is an obvious touchstone, songs like the punky battle cry "Hands Up" are far more direct and the closing one-two punch of the epic slog "I'll Give You Something to Cry About" and the slow-build climax of "Another Beautiful Day in the Pacific Northwest" verge on Rush territory, especially when Willis is busting out moves that
