Honky Tonk Gal. Carl Perkins. Honky Tonk Gal Lyrics. Someday you'll come back crying Someday you will be blue And that mean old honky tonkin' Life'll get the beat of you But I'll be gone, honky tonk gal. Lord, I'll stand right up and tell you I'll sit right down and cry Sweetheart, if you should leave me now I'll know I'd lay and die But now she's gone, honky tonk gal. They took a light from a honky tonk Put the gleam in your eye They took a record from the jukebox And they bid my gal goodbye And now she's gone, honky tonk gal. You'd rather spend your life On a honky tonk hardwood floor But.

Album Honky Tonk Gal: Rare And Unissued Sun Masters (1988). Label Rounder Records. On the outskirts of town, there's a little night spot. Dan dropped in about five o'clock. Pulled off his coat, said "The night is short. He reached in his pocket and he flashed a quart. He hollered, "Rave on, children, I'm with ya! Rave on, cats, " he cried. It's almost dawn, the cops are gone. Let's all get Dixie fried. Well, Dan got happy and he started raving. He pulled out a razor, but he wasn't shaving. And all the cats knew to jump and hop, Cause he was born and raised in a butcher shop.

When Carl Perkins walked into 706 Union Avenue in the Fall of 1954, he was as country as a haystack. Carl had been hearing Elvis Presley's music on the radio for the past month or so and he knew that Sam Phillips' fledgling Sun label was the source of those sounds. Carl figured that he and his brothers had been making the same kind of hillbilly bop music in the bars back in Jackson, Tennessee for close to a year now. If Presley could record and become famous, why couldn't he? Carl was right about one thing. Carl Perkins: Honky Tonk Gal - Rare & Unissued Sun Masters Art-Nr. Carl Lee Perkins (April 9, 1932 – January 19, 1998) was an American singer-songwriter who recorded most notably at the Sun Studio, in Memphis, beginning in 1954. Amongst his best-known songs are 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Matchbox' and 'Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby'.
