Hex Enduction Hour is the fourth studio album by the English post-punk band the Fall. Released on 8 March 1982, it builds on the low-fidelity production values and caustic lyrical content of their earlier recordings, and features a two-drummer lineup. Frontman Mark E. Smith establishes an abrasive Northern aesthetic built in part from the 20th century literary traditions of kitchen sink realism and magic realism
Often considered The Fall’s masterpiece, Hex Enduction Hour is approximately an hour of thundering post-punk fury. It occasionally features dual-drummer polyrhythms, simplistic but powerful ets-The Stooges guitar work, Sister Ray style keyboard riffage, tape-loop manipulation, and of course, the often imitated but never duplicated surrealistic and confrontational lyrics, and Mancunian-accented vocals of frontman Mark E. Smith. It all adds up to a sound that both defined and was on a completely different planet from post-punk. Hex Enduction Hour Q&A.

The Fall are a very intimidating band to approach for the first time due to their vast discography. I had heard of their legendary status as a band fronted by the erratic leader Mark E. Smith and his every changing sound and bandmates. But I had never actually listened to the music before seeing that Superior Viaduct was reissuing their early releases. The label hadn't disappointed me in the past, so I decided to give it a whirl. The listen is rather relentless. As others have said, they packed a lot of music on each side of this record.
The Fall already had a slew of brilliant records under their belt by the time Hex Enduction Hour emerged, but when it did, the result was a bona fide classic on all fronts. Honing the vicious edge of his lyrics to a new level of ability, Smith led his by-now seasoned band - at this time sporting the double-drumming lineup of Paul Hanley and Karl Burns - to create a literal hour's worth of entertaining bile

Hex Enduction Hour is a 1982 album by The Fall. The music remained raw and noisy, but with a more pronounced melodic sense. The album was partly recorded in Iceland during the group's 1981 visit, with the remainder being completed in a disused cinema in Hitchin, England.
