Dreamtime is the debut album by The Cult. Released on 10 September 1984, it reached in the UK and was later certified silver by the BPI after having sold 60,000 copies. The first single, "Spiritwalker", reached on the UK Indie Chart. Dreamtime has subsequently been reissued (or in some cases bootlegged) in roughly 30 countries worldwide. Lyrics to the song "Horse Nation" are taken almost verbatim from the book Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
The Cult is the sixth studio album from English rock band, The Cult. It was released in October, 1994 on Beggars Banquet Records and it is also the band's last album on Sire Records in the USA. It is also commonly referred to as the "Black Sheep" record, due to the image of a Manx Loaghtan black sheep on the front cover
The first album in eight years from the J. Geils Band singer proves nothing can kill Wolf's charm, musicality and youthfulness. Wolf is the passionate impresario of his own musical world, sharing his love of classic country, soul and R&B with anyone who cares to listen. TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek is indie-rock's most visionary producer - the Phil Spector of 21st century Brooklyn. His solo project is a great headphone record that's also staggeringly groovy, with soulful guest vocals from TVOTR's Tunde Adebimpe, Karen O, and David Byrne, and a blend of gothic synths and sleek beats.
1984 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Biography by Stephen Thomas Erlewine. One of England's leading metal revivalists, formed as a goth band but later a stadium-filling hard rock act led by the shamanistic Ian Astbury.
