Kode9 + The Spaceape ‎– Memories Of The Future. Label: Hyperdub ‎– HYPCD001. This album is not musically exceptional, but what keeps on bringing me back to it is that no one else really makes anything like this. Emotionless monologues are laid over dubstep beats to create a unique blend that I can't say I've ever heard before Kode9 & The Spaceape created this and then repeated the act on their subsequent album "Black Sun". It's more a reflection of The Spaceape's talent than Kode9's because the former's vocals are what define this album, more so than Kode9's contribution. Reply Notify me 2 Helpful.

Not too many labels manage to release two outstanding albums that mess with their own genres definitions and the possibilities of music itself in one year, but remarkably Hyperdub follows up the rather excellent Burial album with this incredible and immensely entriguing album from Kode 9 and the Spaceape. It became clear sometime this year that Kode9 was all bassed out from Dubstep's slow darkness, and in turn he's reacted by creating an album that could have reflected some of the Catatonia of his early singles, but is remarkably light upbeat and melodic in places, whilst in others,.
