Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Echo And The Bunnymen. Heaven Up Here is the Bunnymen at their peak - a peak only matched by the Oxfam sales of second-hand overcoats, tartan shirts and skinny young men in moccasins and no socks. To the come all ye faithful there is no other. It’s Heaven Up Here after all.

Heaven Up Here's strength is the way in which the Bunnymen seamlessly work together to shape each song's dynamics (the tension underlying the crescendo of "Turquoise Days" being a prime example). Ian McCulloch, having found his trademark confidence, sings with soaring abandon and passion throughout the album. Similarly, Will Sergeant's guitar playing, notably freed from verse-chorus structure and pop riffs, is at its angular finest; his playing on "No Dark Things" is pure Andy Gill-esque skronk.

Heaven Up Here ranges more widely, and makes motions toward the slightly funkier band that turned up on Porcupine on the aptly titled "Show of Strength" and "With a Hip", while also stretching out their theatrical side on the slow-burning, flute-laden "All My Colours" (also frequently referred to as "Zimbo" for McCulloch's weird, droning nonsense refrain). The Bunnymen mellowed to a degree for their fourth album, the widely acclaimed Ocean Rain, but all it did was cause them to get weirder.

In June 1981, Heaven Up Here became Echo & the Bunnymen's first Top 10 release when it reached number 10 on the UK Albums Chart. Recorded at Rockfield Studios near Monmouth in Wales, Heaven Up Here was co-produced by Hugh Jones and the band. Connect to this site.

Echo & The Bunnymen are most likely that band that you've heard of, but have never taken the chance to sit down and really give 'em a listen. Well that my friend is a mistake. The Bunnymen are an excellent group capable of quite a lot, and they show it on this record.

Heaven Up Here Lyrics Where are you now I'm over here We've got those empty pockets And we can't afford the beer We're smoking holes and we've got only dreams And we're so damn drunk we can't see the stairs. The apple cart upset my head's little brain This little moon in the sky upset my head with a brain. I saw it yippee, I did, I swear Walking through the hallway Crawling up the stairs Abebe baby baby baby Bekila Given up on whisky Taken up with tequila. I'm on my own in my blind alley I turn myself around So it's swallowing me. Watch. I wonder why. Me and the wall We're okay, we're okay. F-F-Faustus you've got nothing to fear It may be hell down there 'Cause it's heaven up here I'd have given forever for a few good years But too much of a muchness is to much you hear. The hammer on my chest was an abominable pain The anvil on my belly was an abdominal strain.
