The sound of something burning Something changing On the merry-go-round tonight T. .The pictures on my wall Are about to swing and fall Love it all Love it all. Originally released in 1979, the Pictures on My Wall EP showcases an early, pre-Pete de Freitas Echo & the Bunnymen that is exuberant in the manner of raw Brit-punk. Ian McCulloch's dark vocals overlay Will Sergeant's simplistic guitar work, and Les Pattinson's typically looping bass adds to the classic punk flavor. The title track and "I've Read It in Books" have a particularly stripped-down sound; both tracks were subsequently revamped for inclusion on the Bunnymen's debut release Crocodiles in 1980

The Pictures on My Wall would appear in a different form on the band’s 1980 debut, Crocodiles, but with only 4,000 copies pressed, the original seven-inch record still fetches tidy sums. The writing was on the wall when the band made their live debut at Eric’s Club in Liverpool in November 1978. Echo malfunctioned, wreaking havoc with the setlist, so it was quietly put back in its box and replaced by a human drummer. Not just any drummer, either, but a colossally talented 19-year-old named Pete de Freitas, whose arrival marks the proper beginning of the group.

The Pictures on My Wall" is the first single released by the band Echo & the Bunnymen and was released in May 1979 in a limited issue of 4,000 copies. Echo & The Bunnymen - Pictures On My Wall. Echo & The Bunnymen video compiled by Dermot Walsh for Pictures On My Wall from the Bunnymen's debut album Crocodiles. Will Sergeant - Echo and the Bunnymen. The album was produced by Alan Douglas and Echo & the Bunnymen and it was recorded at various locations throughout England. Feeling sidelined during the recording of the album, Sergeant described it as "probably the worst time in my whole life".
