Nifty’s simply are „nifty. There's no cultural mission behind it, no currying favour with alien culture, but an implicit immediacy allowing Klezmer to thrive further as a vivid and internationally relevant genre. one of Nifty’s most important sources of inspiration is klezmer music. Klezmer – what new things can be said here? Well, first off: why does something new always have to be said or played?

Nifty’s make Naftularasa! Since their prize as Newcomer World-Music 2006 and their award as Ö1 Artist of the year 2007, Nifty’s is no longer just an insiders’ tip on the world music scene. After their successful bum Takeshi Express (2007, Extraplatte), Nifty’s continue to go down their own road with determination. Their own road? Actually, it’s more like a fast escape from being pigeonholed in any way. Since 2003, the current line-up has been progressing with force as a real working band and the resulting intensity can no longer be ignored.

The album was originally intended as a double album but was shortened to a single LP before being released as Nazz Nazz in May 1969. Much of what was cut was experimental, piano-based Rundgren material, heavily influenced by singer/songwriter Laura Nyro - a far cry from the group's original s-Cream derived sound.
