David & Steve Gordon are new-age and chill-out music recording duo, record producers and founders of the independent label Sequoia Records.
Brothers David and Steve Gordon traveled to Big Sur, California to capture the relaxing sounds of surf and seabirds, which form the background for much of the music. The liner notes talk about the "clear notes of a grand piano," but on "Northern Lights," the electronic altering or "extending" makes the piano sound spacious, yes, but also out of tune. This "bending" of the sound is perhaps intentional, as it is also employed on the background notes of the haunting "Windswept Pines," effectively emulating the breeze
